Our August meeting saw us meeting up at Dulwich Sports Club for a game of Croquet and a Summer picnic. Lucky for us the Sun came out and stayed out! Much better than last year. In True WI style, we put on quite a spread for the picnic too, thanks to all of you for bringing along some tasty mid-match treats!

We received a very nice email from Guy Scurfield, the President, of Dulwich Croquet Club to say how impressed they were with our croquet skills and looks forward to seeing you again on the lawns.
The standard of play was high and the some games were close, but following a hard fought final which took place in the fading light, congratulations go to the winners of the Croquet Challenge who were:

EDWI, Croquet
Gold Medal Winners, Ciaran, Shelley & Sarah Bevan

Silver Medal Winners Mehreen & Sarah-Jayne

A huge thank you to Anna for arranging the whole event, and to the Dulwich Croquet Club for welcoming us so warmly and being such good teachers, we had a fabulous time!

Lucky Kim & Sue F won the raffle too, a 1-hour lesson with world number 17 Pierre Beaudry.

If you would like to take Guy up on his offer of 2 free sundays, or would like more information on joining, visit http://dulwichcroquet.com/.
