Link Age Southwark
Link Age Southwark is a vibrant local charity providing friendly volunteer support to over 500 isolated, older people in Southwark. We help older people stay connected with their communities, alleviating loneliness, improving health and wellbeing and making communities stronger through volunteering.
At our AGM in May we voted on this year’s shortlisted resolutions which will be discussed and voted on at the NFWI AGM in June. These are:
‘The WI calls for the greater recognition of the impact of loneliness as a serious health issue and to work proactively with local groups that help alleviate loneliness in their communities’.
Keep Microplastic Fibres Out of Our Oceans
‘With 85% of human-made material on the shoreline consisting of microplastic fibres, the WI calls on the government to support and fund research into water treatment recycling equipment and processes’.
