Glass Mosaic with Jo Veevers
Wednesday 7 June – 7.30pm till 9.30pm

Last  Month
Thank you to everyone who came along to our AGM last month and helped celebrate our 10th Anniversary with special guests, Jane Beedle, GBBO finalist (wasn’t she great) and Katie Arnold, founder of the EDWI (who was fab too), all washed down with yummy Jamtini cocktails.  I am also delighted to have been re-elected as President for another year and thank you again for your continued support.

Event Details
We are getting crafty next Wednesday when we welcome back local artist, Jo Veevers,  who some of you may remember first introduced us to glass mosaic back in 2015.  This time Jo will be showing us how to make glass mosaic pendants using small decorative glass beads.

As usual our meeting will be held Upstairs at the EDT and will start promptly at 7.30pmPlease try and arrive between 7.00pm and 7.15pm to allow time to get and drink/order food from the bar.

Materials Needed
Everything you need to make your glass pendant will be provided but please bring along a pair of tweezers and an apron if you would like one. You can also bring along small buttons and beads, tiny pebbles, tide worn fragments of glass or ceramics or any personal fragments that you might also like to include in the design of your pendant.

Jo has also very kindly offered a piece of her handmade jewellery for the raffle so don’t forget to bring some spare change. Tickets will be sold for £2 for five tickets with all proceeds going to help us run great events without any additional cost to members.

Dulwich Festival Fair
We had a great day selling our home made cakes, biscuits and jams at this year’s Dulwich Festival Fair and are thrilled to let you know we raised £205.00  which we hope to add to the £20.25 raised for local volunteer charity Link Age Southwark in support off one of this year’s resolution shortlist for Alleviating Loneliness.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help out on the stall, Ciaran Dance, Kirsten Ing, Penelope Palmer-Latif, Susan Perolls, Mowe Saha, Niamh Shannon and Dotty Toddy, and to those members who baked including, Chloe Edges Susan Fabian, Louise Green, Kirsten Ing, Mowe Saha, Penny Palmer-Latif, Mowe Saha and Maureen Springbett, giving us yummy things to sell.

Southwark Foodbank

Please help local people in crisis by bringing one or two items no-perishable items and toiletries to the meeting

Your support and help is changing local people’s lives – Thank you!

Shameless Plugging
At every monthly meeting moving forward members will be given the opportunity to ‘shamelessly plug’ a local event, personal business or community fundraiser to the rest of the members. If you have something you would like to mention at next week’s meeting, please send an email to president@eastdulwichwi.com

We look forward to seeing you!
