Stand Up Comedy with Esther Manito

Wednesday 7th November 2018 – 7.30pm

Upstairs at The East Dulwich Tavern

We are delighted to announce that Esther Manito will be joining us for the evening to tickle us with her comedy stylings!

Esther is a Lebanese British comedian who started writing and performing stand up less than two years ago. Recently crown “King Gong” at the Comedy Store, she was a ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ finalist, ‘Bath Comedian of the Year’ finalist and ‘Amused Moose’ semi-finalist – all in 2017. Esther was listed as ‘One to watch’ 2016 by Funny Women, and was a 2016/2017 semi finalist in ‘Leicester Square Comedian of the Year’ competition as well as being part of the ‘New Comedy Awards’ on BBC Radio 4 Extra (2016/2017). Wow! And as is that wasn’t impressive enough, Ester contributed to a book called Don’t Panic, I’m Islamic – Words and Pictures on How to Stop Worrying and Learn to Love the Alien Next Door

Esther writes and performs about her relationship with her Arab roots, and how this influences her role as a mum, a wife and a daughter.  Esther’s storytelling is about her connection with Lebanon and her family. It is truly important that she represents how brilliant mixed Arab/English family life is.  Being a mum can be hard work. Being a woman is challenging. Being Arab is tough at times. Being middle class English is….never tough….(unless Waitrose is out of Avocados) however, being all four is absolutely blooming hilarious.

If you just can’t wait to see Esther, you can follow her on Twitter and Facebook or
